What is the Pflaum Gospel Weeklies Faith Formation Program?

The Pflaum Gospel Weeklies is the ONLY liturgically-based catechetical program in the Catholic market for children from preschool through ninth grade. It is available in English and Spanish, digitally and in print. Every lesson on every grade level is based on each week’s Sunday Gospel and the Catholic doctrine that flows from it. Parents and guardians will find this method easy-to-use. It will assist them in discussing the Gospel together as a family each week as a tool to prepare for attendance at the weekend Mass.

In-Person Classes

For the 2024-2025 School Year we are offering

two different sessions :

K Sundays 10:00am - 11:00am

1-5 Tuesdays 4:45pm - 6:00pm

1-5 Wednesdays 6:15pm - 7:30pm

At-Home

PROCEDURE FOR AT-HOME/MAKEUP LESSON ASSESSMENT SUBMISSION FOR CREDIT

We are pleased to offer at-home learning for the families of K-5 Gospel Weeklies curriculum. Packets must be checked out from Faith Formation. Packets will include a Parent Teaching Page for each week.

** ASSESSMENTS MUST BE COMPLETED BY SATURDAY OF THE WEEK COVERED. For instance, SEPT. 24th Gospel Weekly Assessment is due by SEPT. 23 AT NOON.

Procedure:

Complete the lesson as taught in the parent teaching pages.
Then go to www.pflaumweeklies.com (no special code necessary)
Select the program your using (Promise, Good News or Venture)
Scroll down the page to ASSESSMENTS and click on “Program Assessments”
Scroll down to the Dated Lesson Assessments
Select the Lesson Assessment that matches the lesson of the week.
Choose the “Online Assessment” (Not thePretest or Unit Test)
Fill out “First” and “Last Name” of student, and Parent’s (not catechist) Email
Have student answer the questions thoroughly (answers are checked for content)
Check your email to make sure the submission went through properly.
Forward the assessment email to ffmakeuplessons@stmarymilfordmi.org

ASSESSMENTS MUST BE RECEIVED BY SATURDAY AT NOON BEFORE THE DATED SUNDAY

We will allow a one week grace period (for a preapproved excuse; must contact Faith Formation)

Gospel Weeklies are designed to prepare for the upcoming weekend Mass that is attended in-person or online.
