Confirmation

Confirmation perfects Baptismal grace; it is the sacrament which gives the Holy Spirit in order to root us more deeply in the divine filiation, incorporate us more firmly into Christ, strengthen our bond with the Church, associate us more closely with her mission, and help us bear witness to the Christian faith in words accompanied by deeds.

Confirmation

While we believe that human life is infused with the sacramental goodness of God, the Catholic Church has defined seven sacraments - instituted by and through the life of Jesus Christ. It is through the experience of the sacramental ritual that we are infused with God’s grace. The Sacraments nourish and strengthen us as they express and build up our faith.

Confirmation increases and deepens the grace of Baptism, imprinting an indelible character on the soul. Through the Sacrament of Confirmation we are asked to renew our baptismal promises and commit to living a mature life in the Christian faith.

Confirmation is celebrated in the spring for those enrolled in the preparation sessions (available during 8th - 10th grade). Parental, sponsor mentoring and coaching to assist with this sacrament is provided. Check out the Confirmation Page for more information.

Each student chooses a Confirmation sponsor that will help develop a faith relationship with the candidate. As a Confirmation sponsor, you do have specific functions. The Church describes them as follows,  read more . . .

Confirmation for those enrolled in the RCIA Program is celebrated at Easter Vigil.
