Middle School Youth Ministry (Edge)

Edge is our Catholic middle school youth ministry program that is designed to meet the catechetical, educational, spiritual, emotional, and social needs of our middle school youth. It provides a fun & safe place for youth to find solid Catholic community, to get answers to their questions about faith, and most importantly, to experience Jesus in a profound and personal way. Edge will ultimately help them to understand and love their Catholic faith and want to continue living it out after Confirmation.

Let's face it...

We all remember that middle school was awkward and difficult. That hasn’t changed. However, societal shifts have made the middle school years more difficult than ever. The pressures and temptations our youth face today are the same pressures that just 15 years ago were experienced only in high school. Not only are they faced with these tough realities, but they are also in the process of moving from being family-centered to friend-centered.

Many of the values and beliefs that they held as children are now being challenged and questioned. These middle schoolers are trying to figure out who they are and what they believe.

Edge is a place where our middle school youth can face those questions, within the context of Catholic teaching. Edge exists to give middle school youth a safe place where they are free to be themselves, surrounded by others seeking Christ. It is a place where they can feel like they belong to the greater Church community.

Edge Gatherings

Each Edge gathering is an ENGAGING night filled with fun & games, is centered on Church teaching and Scripture, and gives the youth an avenue to share their faith through small group discussion.

Edge provides our young people the opportunity to come together weekly, to gather together with their families and the larger parish community for a monthly youth ministry Mass, and participate in off-site events like retreats, service projects, youth rallies, camps and more.

In running Edge, our goal is to help each youth fall in love with the God who is already madly in love with them.

2023-2024 Edge Year Requirements

  • Students must attend 80% of classes for this year of faith formation to count.
  • Students are encouraged to attend a retreat if able. Normally there are 5 opportunities offered, however at this time, there is only one retreat scheduled.  If a student is unable to attend, it will not be held against them, but attendance is highly encouraged.
  • Students must complete 10 hours of community service, within the church community, service outside of the church will not be counted. Please review the instructions on how to use the Sign-up Genius to sign up for community service hours.
